Secularism at the cost of Hinduism Wikipedia says: With the Forty-second Amendment of the Constitution of India enacted in 1976, the Preamble to the Constitution asserted that India is a secular nation . However, the Supreme Court of India in S. R. Bommai v. Union of India established the fact that India was secular since the formation of the republic. I want to put it as India is a Secular nation(since Republic) at the cost of Hinduism ; if the situation demands. I would like to highlight a few examples. Has anyone of you heard the last speech of Nathuram Godse, yes the man who murdered Gandhiji! You think he's a terrorist(a sort of) but I say he's a Nationalist and a true Hindu. He shares some dark truths. During partition of India, several massacres, widespread violence occurred. The main reason was Gandhiji. He and the Congress Government at that time ignored the safety of the hindus residing in Punjab, Bengal(East Bengal-now Bangladesh), Sindhu and left them to the mercy ...

Farm Laws-Bane or Boon

Image
Farm Laws-Bane or Boon Let's start by having a close look at the two different headlines- The first image shows Punjab Farmers happily selling rice at MSP, even when the market price is significantly lower. The Second image shows Maharashtra farmers selling the Tur Dal in Open Market when Market Price is 1.5 times higher than the usual MSPs. The point is that the amended Farm Laws give the farmers numerous options- whether to sell at MSPs or to sell in open markets, to Corporate Agro businesses who may pay the farmers higher prices. The Opposition argues that the Modi govt is doing all this for the benefits of its corporate(allies) but in my point of view it doesn't seem so. The Opposition says the poor and illiterate farmers tend to have a weak bargaining position in contrast to the powerful and rich corporates. Since the closing of APMCs(and virtually the lifting of MSP) the farmers have no security but the corporates. They may get lower prices than MSPs.  But I...

Digital Diplomacy

"COVID-19 has brought about disruption in all aspects of life; Diplomacy is no exception ," says Australian High Commissioner Mr Barry O' Farrel. Earlier, important meetings-especially meetings related to Diplomacy, International Summits, Meetings with other countries' heads- all these were conducted physically. Even if few were digital, they were not accepted to be official, just Casual sort of meeting. But COVID has forced all these to change. Virtual will be the New Normal in Post COVID era .  Not only in oratory, this seems to be a true fact! Let us examine some key points- Gopal Baghley, the Indian High Commisioner to Sri-Lanka, was the first Indian to present his credential virtually. Syed Akhbaruddin, India's representative to United Nations retired officially through a virtual Namaste. The United Nations is looking to conduct its General Assembly virtually through pre recorded speeches! It is not that, Virtual Diplomacy is a new concept totally, ...

Now you must be thinking- Public-private Partnerships ; But most of the times Private sector is RELUCTANT to invest in such large scale projects! because Revenue can't be collected from such organisations for prolonged periods! So, overall it is a very hectic procedure- we can even conclude this as the very reason why such projects are so slow to be implemented! Let us consider the Government wants to implement a Large-Scale Project. Here goes the chain: The Locals and the State Governments decide mutually and locate 100 acres of land for the project. In addition to this, an additional 100 acres of land...
